Self-isolation. Quarantine. Hunkering Down – Whatever you call it, this “new normal” is requiring significant modifications to everyday life. As we continue to adapt daily business practices to address COVID-19 precautions, and adjust face-to-face meetings to online interactions, the ASA team has been working to create training solutions to meet the continued demands of Alaska’s industry and workforce. With this, we wanted to announce the newest computer-based trainings (CBTs) available to the public through the Alaska Safety Alliance online portal.

In early May, ASA released an online version of the 2018 ASH Update. Thanks to a generous contribution from ConocoPhillips Alaska, the 2018 Alaska Safety Handbook Update is now available to take as an online course – Anytime, anywhere! This one-hour CBT emphasizes key changes made to the 2018 ASH and is a recommended course for all North Slope employees. Visit the Alaska Safety Alliance website to access this course and other ASA online courses.

The ASA team has also converted the eight-hour NSTC Unescorted course into an online hybrid training. This course combines instructor-led training (ILT) by certified NSTC Instructors with online student activities and knowledge checks. This training meets the minimum requirements for North Slope operating companies and contractor personnel. To learn more about this hybrid training, contact nstc@alaskasafetyalliance.org
