Introducing the new NSTC eCard!

January 23rd 2020
By: Cari-Ann Carty

The North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC), managed by the Alaska Safety Alliance (ASA), has some exciting changes happening! Starting from January 1, 2020, the ASA will include NSTC completion data. ASA accounts will display NSTC course completion information within 30 days of course completion.

Everyone with an NSTC Unescorted card from January 1, 2020, onwards, will now have an ASA account. This ASA account will also track other trainings including BP Induction, ConocoPhillips Permit to Work, and Oil Search Orientation, as well as others.

It is crucial to ensure your name listed in an ASA account is the same as your employment records and government-issued ID. North Slope Operators are using the reports from ASA to verify course completions – if your name doesn’t match (example Chris vs. Christopher), then you may not get credit for your training.

Receiving the NSTC eCard

Upon completion of the NSTC Unescorted course, individuals should receive a temporary NSTC card, valid for 90 days. Within the 90 days, ASA will upload their NSTC training information into our online system and create and mail the eCard to the address provided.

Replacing Lost or Damaged NSTC Cards

To replace an NSTC card or NSTC eCard, contact the Alaska Safety Alliance office at (907)770-5250. Please note there is a $10 card replacement fee. ASA staff will verify NSTC completion records, receive payment, and issue the replacement card.

In some cases, ASA may not be able to verify past NSTC training. In these instances, additional directions will be provided. Any NSTC training that cannot be verified may result in having to retake the NSTC Unescorted course.

We are so excited about these changes to the NSTC Card! If you have any questions, please contact us – we’re happy to assist.
