Meet This Year’s Candidates

The ASA/AWA Nominations Committee, with approval from the Executive Committee of the Board, is pleased to present four candidates for the 2026 Board of Directors. Candidates will be introduced at the Annual Membership Meeting & Breakfast on October 8, 2026, part of the 2026 Alaska Workforce Convening, with voting open to ASA/AWA members through noon that day.

Jacelyn Keys

Director of Workforce Development, University of Alaska System

Jacelyn Keys serves as Director of Workforce Development for the University of Alaska System, where she partners with employers, state agencies, tribal organizations, K–12 schools, and higher education leaders to align Alaska’s workforce pipeline with industry needs. She brings a statewide perspective and a collaborative leadership style focused on listening, problem-solving, and connecting organizations around shared goals.

Jacelyn believes lasting progress on Alaska’s workforce challenges requires education, industry, government, labor, and community partners working together, and the University of Alaska has long valued its partnership with ASA. She is particularly interested in strengthening workforce pipelines and expanding access to training and safety education for Alaskans at every career stage.

Peter Davenport

HSE Director, ConocoPhillips Alaska · Incumbent

Peter Davenport is an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) leader with over 16 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He currently serves as HSE Director for ConocoPhillips in Anchorage, where he oversees HSE planning, financial stewardship, and HSE excellence across Alaska operations.

Peter brings a deep understanding of both technical and governance frameworks, having held key HSE leadership roles at ConocoPhillips in Alaska and Canada, as well as at Newfield Exploration and Phillips 66. His expertise spans regulatory compliance, risk management, and organizational safety culture. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health from the University of Central Missouri and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Peter was appointed to the ASA Board of Directors in June of 2025.

Joseph “Joey” Guzzo

Health & Safety Manager, Santos

Joey Guzzo recently joined Santos as Health & Safety Manager, supporting the company’s Alaska operations including the Pikka development. He brings 16 years in oil and gas, most recently with Chevron, spanning the full asset lifecycle from pad construction and drilling through completions, production, decommissioning, and reclamation. His expertise spans risk management, incident investigation and learning, contractor management, and building the assurance processes that sustain a strong safety culture — with a particular interest in systems that hold up in the field, not just on paper.

Having recently relocated to Alaska, Joey has spent his first months learning how the North Slope works: how operators, contractors, and training providers coordinate here, and where the differences from other basins actually matter. He believes safety competency in Alaska is built collectively, not company by company, and welcomes the opportunity to contribute to that work alongside the operators, contractors, and workforce partners already represented on the Board.

Jeremy Wagner

Senior Director of Safety, NANA North

Jeremy Wagner is Senior Director of Safety for NANA North. Since joining NANA companies in 2009, he has advanced from a maintenance role into safety leadership, building experience across construction, oil and gas, mining, healthcare, school district services, and aviation operations — giving him a broad view of Alaska’s workforce needs.

Jeremy has supported numerous NANA shareholder development and workforce initiatives, helping employees build skills, advance their careers, and contribute to Alaska’s workforce. He also volunteers as an AWANA leader at his church, mentoring young people in his community. Jeremy has closely followed ASA’s growing focus on workforce development, a mission that strongly aligns with his own values and experience.
