The North Slope Orientation (NSO) course provides basic safety awareness training specific to the unique climate and working conditions of Alaska’s North Slope region. The course gives an overview of camps, travel, environment, working conditions, Operator expectations, and general safety, and complements general industry awareness training, such as Basic Orientation Plus.

NOTE: All North Slope Operators accept the North Slope Orientation combined with Basic Orientation Plus (BOP) as an equivalent to the NSTC Unescorted training.
