Metallurgy, Chemical and Environmental Laboratory Technician

Do the research, test results, discover a great career.

A mine is a lot more than digging and trucking. It’s also highly scientific. Lab technicians are needed for assessment of samples in several areas of a mining operation: geological, environmental and chemical. Preparation of samples for assays or for determination of compliance involves use of chemical processes, laboratory equipment and analyzers and data information systems. Report writing, data tracking and laboratory safety are key to this job. Lab assistants work under the supervision of a trained metallurgist, chemist or geologist. A great way to get paid while getting ready to move up.

Education and training needed: High school diploma or GED; secondary CTE coursework preferred
